AWA Serves 1,050 at Annual Breakfast on the Farm

The Association of Women in Agriculture welcomed over 1,050 people to their 13th annual Breakfast on the Farm on Sunday, April 13.

Plans are underway for the 13th annual Association of Women in Agriculture Breakfast on the Farm. The breakfast will be held on Sunday, April 13th from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Stock Pavilion located on the UW-Madison campus.

AWA Celebrates 35 Years

AWA actives, alumni and guests celebrated the organization’s 35th anniversary on March 1 in Fond du Lac. More than 90 attendees were on hand to commemorate the organization’s past, celebrate its current accomplishments, and look towards the future.


Dessert Auction Raises $1,160

With everything from candy crunch pie to red velvet cake, the second annual AWA Day dessert auction raised $1,160 for two house scholarships. Melissa Doyle and Kristin Natzke will each receive a $580 rent reduction during the 2008-09 school year from the money raised during the auction.


AWA Big and Little Sisters Bond

What do you think about when you hear ‘AWA?’ Do you think of agriculture, professionalism, or being actively involved on UW-Madison campus? Even though these are all good to associate with AWA, they probably aren’t one of the first things members - past and present - think about.

13th Annual Breakfast on the Farm

Another exciting year is ahead of us, which includes the much-anticipated 13th annual AWA Breakfast on the Farm. Due to the new protocol issued on campus, food events are no longer allowed in the Stock Pavilion, but Katie Behnke, co-general chairwoman, and animal sciences professor, Norlin Benevenga, have been working hard to find a location on campus and have set the date for Sunday, April 13, 2008.


AWA Welcomes New Members

AWA has a reputation of possessing some of the smartest and most promising leaders in agriculture. This reputation continues with the fall 2007 potential class. Overall, there were 22 girls who joined AWA.

Gettin’ down on the farm with AWA and Babcock! Homecoming came and went with plenty of enthusiasm and school spirit to go around. Festivities began October 19th with the return of Badger Barge Building on Library Mall and Lake Mendota and ended October 26th with the Homecoming parade, fireworks, and pep rally!
